Our suppliers use quality organic cotton to produce garments to exacting standards, this means that the fabric is clean and comfortable and more importantly - purer!

In order to encourage and sustain an otherwise dwindling economy our suppliers pay premium prices within community projects situated in Northern India so that all who are involved can benefit from the additional income and build a future for their community.

The livelihood of farmers and communities are important to us and on that basis this is why we have chosen the suppliers we have.

A lot of consideration has gone into the range of colours available, yes dyes are used but, they are used to the Global Organic Standard to ensure the absolute minimal impact on the environment. Some of the prohibitions include: amine-releasing azo dyes, aromatic solvents, phenols, short-chain aldehydes, GMO's, halogenated solvents, heavy metals and flourcarbones. Waste-water treatment plants which meet the Global Organic Standard are also monitored for the quality of water that is discharged again to minimalise the impact on the environment.

The Global Organic Standard also take into consideration the social criteria including:

Employment is freely chosen
Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
Working conditions are safe and hygienic
Child labour is not used
Living wages are paid
Working hours are not excessive
No discrimination is practised
Regular employment is provided
No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

Printing

The printing process adopted by our suppliers have been accredited by The Soil Association and is the first UK textile printer to have gained the recognition for being an authentic organic printer. The process used is water-based and has a minimal impact on the environment.
